The Phoenix Circle
Boris Raymond's The Phoenix Circle travels back in time
to bring to life the collapse of the western Roman empire.
It is 448 A.D. Barbarians are on the attack and Attila the Hun
is threatening invasion. Struggles for wealth and power are creating
a miasma of corruption, greed, and sexual licence within the empire.
A small group of military leaders, the Phoenix Circle, dedicates itself
to the preservation of Rome's grandeur. While its members rely on their
military skills, other Romans seek to restore the empire by emphasizing,
compassion and spirituality rather than power and unbridled materialism.
