AMERICAN  STUDIES
RESEARCH CLUSTER

From its beginnings in the academy, American Studies has been a inherently interdisciplinary affair, rooted in the recognition that the culture of the United States is no simple object, but rather a diverse and multifaceted complex of ideas, artifacts, and practices. The goal of the American Studies Research Cluster is to bring together a number of scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds and departments, including English, History, Sociology,  Art History, Music, and Political Science, so that their individual projects can benefit from dialogue and intellectual cross-fertilization.
