I joined Dalhousie University in August 1986, first as Visiting Assistant Professor, then as Assistant Professor (since July 1987). I hold a Ph.D. in Commerce from the University of British Columbia. My Ph.D. thesis was written under the supervision of Professor W.T. Ziemba on "Multistage stochastic programming" (1987). I hold an M.S. degree in Mathematics from Oregon State University (1979) and completed the Vordiplom in Mathematics at the University of Stuttgart (1975).

I am a member of several professional organizations, including the Mathematical Programming Society, INFORMS, and the Canadian Operational Research Society.
