Why is my webpage on a Dalhousie server if I'm working at Harvard?
A post-doc and a nomad are not that different - but Google needs a
stable web address or nobody will find my webpage. I graduated from
Dalhousie University in 2009 and until moving to Harvard I have
remained associated with Dalhousie. I still have and use my
Dalhousie email account and I have had a webpage at Dalhousie for 7
years. That means that Google knows where to find my webpage when
someone searches for me, and it won't if I move it to Harvard. That
said, Dalhousie ITS may shut down my website any day now. However,
since this is unlikely to happen soon, my site will stay here. If
and when it does, or if I get a "real job," I will move it to Harvard
or to my new employer.
My website is mirrored on the Faculty of Arts and Sciences server at Harvard here:
