"Shark-kills" frequently wash ashore: it is suspected that curious weaners approach sharks, and are killed as the shark bites while the seal performs a spinning evasive maneouver. Most shark-kill carcasses look the same: the skin is cut sharply around the midsection and peeled back over the torso, remaining attached at the snout. |
