joins the group as a Postdoctoral Fellow - welcome! Rylan is
awarded “Honorable Mention” in the 2011 NSERC Innovation Challenge Award
competition. August, 2011 Earl Cook (NSERC
CGS-M Scholar) and Craig Wheaton (Killam
Postdoctoral Fellow, from the Hayes group) join the group – welcome! June, 2011 Mark gives an
invited lecture in the Metal Reagents
for Organic Synthesis symposium of the 2011 Canadian Society for
Chemistry Conference and Exhibition. Rylan
presents his award lecture for the 2011 National Award for Graduate Work in
Inorganic Chemistry (Chemical Institute of Canada) at the Canadian Society
for Chemistry Conference and Exhibition. Ben and Pam give
talks at the 2011 Canadian Society for Chemistry Conference and Exhibition. April, 2011 Chris is awarded a
PGS-D Scholarship – congrats! Mark is awarded an
NSERC Idea to Innovation grant. Pam, Rylan, Lauren and Mark have a communication entitled, “Palladium-catalyzed
synthesis of indoles via ammonia cross-coupling–alkyne cyclization” accepted
to Chemical Communications. February, 2011 Rylan
receives the 2011 National Award for Graduate Work in Inorganic Chemistry
(Chemical Institute of Canada), and will present his award lecture in June
2011 at the Canadian Society for Chemistry Conference and Exhibition. Mark was awarded a Faculty
of Science Killam Research Professorship (2011-2016)
in recognition of outstanding research achievements. Kevin,
Matt and Mark have a full paper entitled, “Probing Mesitylborane and Mesitylborate
Ligation Within the Coordination Sphere of Cp*Ru(PiPr3)+:
A Combined Synthetic, X-Ray Crystallographic, and Computational Study.” accepted to Inorganic Chemistry. |
November, 2011 Coming soon! September, 2011 Matthew
Rankin (Ph.D. 2008, PDF MIT, Ottawa) accepts the
position of Senior Product Development Chemist at 3M Canada (Brockville, ON). July, 2011 Mark gives an
invited lecture at the Gordon Research Conference on Organometallic
Chemistry (Newport, RI, USA). Rylan, Mark
and Kevin have an invited review article entitled, “Design of New P,N "DalPhos"
Ligands: Applications in Transition Metal
Catalysis.” accepted to Synlett. May, 2011 Mark Maclean (NSERC
CGS-M Scholar) joins the group – welcome! March, 2011 Mark is awarded an Innovacorp Early Stage Commercialization Award. Kevin, Rylan and Mark have a communication entitled, “Palladium-Catalyzed
Mono-alpha-Arylation of Acetone with Aryl Halides
and Tosylates” accepted to the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Congrats to Chris
and Lauren who each were awarded NSERC postgraduate scholarships! Mark gives invited
lectures at the University of Toronto and York University. The Stradiotto
Group attends the Atlantic Inorganic Discussion Weekend at the University of
New Brunswick (Fredericton, NB). Craig Wheaton
(University of Lethbridge, currently finishing his
PhD with Prof. Paul Hayes) was awarded a Killam
Postdoctoral Fellowship, which he will take up in the Stradiotto group in the
fall of 2011. |
