Dr. Cozens did her PhD at the University of Toronto and then went on to do post-doctoral research at the University of Ottawa. She has been a researcher at Dalhousie University since joining the Department in 1995.

Dr. Schepp also did his PhD at the University of Toronto and then carried out his post-doctoral studies in at the Universität Basel in Basel Switzerland. Upon returning to Canada Dr. Schepp worked at the NRC labs in Ottawa as a research associate before moving to Dalhousie University.

Both Dr. Cozens and Dr. Schepp are interested in studying the reactivity of short-lived molecules that have some utility. They also both enjoy developing equipment involving lasers and other specialized instruments.

2010-2011 Class Schedules

Prof. Fran Cozens

DISP First-year Chemistry - Fall
CHEM3601: Chemistry of Living Systems - Winter
CHEM3404: Intermediate Organic Chemistry, Physical Organic and Spectroscopy - Winter (shared with Dr. Schepp)

Prof. Norm Schepp

CHEM3401: Intermediate Organic Chemistry - Fall
CHEM3404: Intermediate Organic Chemistry, Physical Organic and Spectroscopy  - Winter (shared with Dr. Cozens)

-----------------------------------------------------------

CHEM3404 is a new chemistry class offered for the first time during the winter 2011. We are very excited about this class and think that it will be of inerest to a wide range of Chemistry students. If you have an interest in learning about how and why organic reactions happen and other aspects of organic chemistry sign up today.

If you would like more information on any of the classes above please contact us!
