STUDY, LEARN AND LIVE IN BUENOS AIRES

The Department of Economics has a student exchange programme with the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT), one of the leading liberal arts institutions in Argentina. This individualized programme provides a unique opportunity to take courses that count for your degree at Dalhousie, improve and advance your Spanish, and learn about the rich Argentinean culture. Since 2001, 9 students from Dalhousie and UTDT have participated in the programme.

The Universidad Torcuato Di Tella is located in the heart of Buenos Aires, and boasts a faculty of international reputation. It is a small university but offers a range of courses in the social sciences, humanities, and arts. Most of the faculty members in the Economics Department are educated in world renowned universities, have outstanding research records, and have teaching experience in North American and European universities.

To participate in this programme, you must:

This programme is especially suitable for those undergraduate students who are in their third- or fourth-year of study and wish to spend a semester or full year abroad, and for graduate students who would like to take courses that count toward their degree while undertaking thesis related field research.

Please note that since Buenos Aires is in the southern hemisphere, winter courses at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella correspond to Dalhousie's summer recess. There is also financial assistance available through Study/Work International Fund administered by International Students, and Exchange Services. Information for international students at the UTDT can be obtained from their Exchange Services.
