Funding

Funding for research equipment, operating expenses, and the training of highly qualified personnel has been provided by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

NSERC's mandate is to "make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians. The agency supports university students in their advanced studies, promotes and supports discovery research, and fosters innovation..."

I am extremely grateul for the support I have received from NSERC for my discovery research, for the high quality student research and training opportunities that my NSERC grants have enabled me to provide, and for the additional support that NSERC has provided to students in the form of summer research awards and graduate stipends.

NSERC's commitment to research and development and its emphasis on the training of highly qualified personnel is critical to the continued and future success of Canada's knowledge-based economy.
