Opportunities
Training students to perform high-quality research and sharing in the excitement of discovery is one of the most rewarding aspects of my chosen career. My lab operates on a mentorship model, wherein I work closely with students to provide training and guidance in all aspects of research, from conceptualization and design to publication.
Undergraduates
- Research volunteers
- If you are an undergraduate student with an interest in understanding human memory and/or attention and would like to gain some hands-on experience in an active research lab, please contact me.
- In most cases, students will need to have completed Psyo 2000 or Nesc 2007 and Psyo/Nesc 2130.
- 3rd-year Independent Research
- Honours Research
- Research participants
- Volunteering as a research participant is a great way to learn about Psychology and to become part of the world-class research that is conducted here at Dalhousie.
- The research in my lab depends critically on undergraduate students who generously volunteer their time to participate in our experiments. Most of our experiments are advertised on Sona-Systems and offer credit points in exchange for participation. However, if you are not in an eligible class but would nevertheless like to volunteer your time, please feel free to contact us.

Graduate Students
- Prospective students
- If you are interested in studying human attention and memory from a cognitive perspective, please contact me to discuss potential opportunities to perform graduate training in my lab.
- I am willing to train students in the Experimental, Psychology/Neuroscience, and Clinical programs
- Opportunities also exist for co-supervision if your interests intersect between memory/attention and another field of interest.
- Please have a look at our Graduate Student Handbook which outlines our graduate programs. Note in particular that our PhD comprehensive projects allow you to perform projects with up to 3 faculty members in addition to your primary research supervisor. So even if attention/memory are not your primary interest, there may still be an opportunity to explore this topic as a comprhensive project.
- Current students
- I am very interested in supervising comprehensive projects for students in any of our graduate programs.
