AROUND CHEMISTRY
AROUND THE YEAR

During my years in the trenches, I had the habit of walking around the Chemistry Building - really: the "Dalhousie Quadrangle" - to relax and refocus for my first-year lectures. The following photographs are mostly snapshots from these walks. And after retirement I kept walking. Yes, it was rarer and slower - among other reasons, no more students were waiting for me - but the range also increased and so did the number of images...

Would you like to walk along with me?
(But see Note below!)

Note added in 2011: This webpage was compiled a decade or so ago as an html code exercise. I have now collected most of my old Dalhousie photographs - and then some - on a commercial program, Flickr, which you might find easier to click your way through or, for that matter, just enjoy via their "Slide Show" application, by visiting
my Flickr Set "Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia".

Please Note:   The image size is defined as linear percentage of your browser window, hence these photographs will magnify or reduce if your browser window is expanded or contracted. I have tried to keep brightness/contrast at a generally acceptable level, but you may want to adjust screen settings to your own taste of light and dark.

All of the above low-resolution photographs may be used free of credit or copyright restrictions.
