Ehrentraut Helmberg-Lanner:

Menschenherz, warum bist du so klein?

Ehrentraut Helmberg-Lanner:

Everything I loved...

Everything I loved was large and prime:
Azure skies above the tent of time,

and the sea that sleeps in deep recess,
and the glaciers' dream of loneliness.

Highland forests, holding hoarfrost's colds,
moonwhite nights in glistening star-gown folds.

How I'd love enveloping them all -
Human heart, why are you but so small?
