Continuous research in this area has developed a shotcreting technology using full tailings without size classification. With this technology, the waste material is used to replace aggregates shotcrete as ground support. The shotcrete is made by adding a special binder, HiFa Bond, to the tailings mix (no aggregates needed). The binder hassuperior properties. Experiments were conducted on various mix design and very satisfactory results are achieved. It has showed tremendous potential to benefit the mining industry. In addition to the environment benefits, this technology will also generating savings on shotcreting materials.
